    St Mary's church Aston

Hello A S Wood, I used to go to St. Mary's in the 1950's and I used to play soccer with twins John and Kenny Wood who lived in Whitehouse Street virtually opposite the school. Also living near them was Roy Whitmore who was a mate of mine when at the school. If your dad or their relatives are the...

    Midland Counties Dairy

MCD was on the corner of Bagot Street and the last little bit of Corporation Street where it met Aston Road at the canal. I also remember watching the bottles going along quickly on the conveyors. I remember the brick of ice cream too with wafers. My brother and I used to fight for the thickest...

    Miller Street Newtown.

Hi Dek, Yes it was the White Hart but I'm sure you meant to write that the motorcycle shop was just down Aston Road from the traffic lights. It was Premium Motors and they were about halfway down Aston Road between Dartmouth Street and Hubert Street. Their main car showroom was on the opposite...

    Miller Street Newtown.

Hi Lyn, I can't think of a pub in Miller Street. I can think of 2 outdoors, 1 on the corner of Miller St and Bracebridge St (picture posted by you) and one on the corner of Miller St and Aston Brook St. I wasn't old enough to drink at the time so I could be mistaken. I never heard my dad mention...

Hey Dek, I believe you are Jackie's husband? Used to bowl against her in the Morris Commercial League at Wylde Green Bowl, along with her brother Tommy and both of his wives. We also used to live near The Scott Arms just off Newton Road in Meadowside Close. How near are/were you?
