    I have this occupation added to a couple of my ancestors occupations. Can anyone confirm please what this terms means? Am I correct in thinking they carried out their occupation on the move so to speak. Or am I having another blond moment!? Won't be the first........ lol

    Has anyone got any information at all about this church? My great grandparents were married there on 25th December 1891 and I would love to know where it was/is and what is looks like. Another question......... was it usual to get married on Christmas Day?

    My Great Grandfather, George Heath, married Mary Ann Trotman on 25th December 1891. I cannot make out her address clearly on the copy of their wedding certificate. It looks like 34 Tuge Street. Can anyone offer any information at all on the correct name for this street and its location etc...

    Could anyone tell me where this church was/is? Any information would be appreciated. My g grandparents married there in 1890. They were Alfred Dauncey and Clara Jackson. They were both living in Great Colmore Street at the time. Thank you.

    On my great Grandfather's wedding certificate, his occupation is that of Undertaker. He was living in Great Colmore Street, Birmingham. Can anyone find any information about him please. He married Clara Fanny Jackson on 7th April 1890 at the Parish Church of St. Thomas, Birmingham.

    I have just seen a photograph of this building on Keith Berry's website. One of the comments mentions a company called Pelican Rainware. Is this the reason for there being a Pelican on the top of the building?

    Thank you all for your responses. Doesn't the building look grand in the up to date photo. Its still got me wondering though why it has a Pelican on the top of it!

    I have memories as a child either driving down Gt. Hampton Street or possibly being on a bus, straining to see the Pelican on the top of a building there. Does anyone know what this building was used for? Is it still in existence?

    There used to be a shop which was I think I remember correctly next door to the hairdressers, that my Aunt owned (sold childrens clothes and wool). I remember playing in the back garden there and eating gooseberries from the bushes that used to grow there. Had my hair cut at the hairdressers...

    Did anyone find out the name of this pub. Would be very interested to know as looking at the picture it seems to be a the bottom of Burbury Street.
