Sadly Tony died a couple of years ago.
He was a great guy and I can remember him teaching me to drive when we first met in the 1960's when we were both bus conductors at Washwood Heath. I also met Shirley several times and can remember them being very fond of each other. It was a great shock...
Does anyone have any information about the mill or malt house that stood at the junction of Malthouse Lane and Salisbury Road in Washwood Heath. I can vaguely remember the ruins of it in the 50's before rebuilding took place in these roads.
My dad - Les Linnecor - went to that school in the late 20's early 30's and then attended Leigh Road School, Washwood Heath. He lived in Miller Street, Aston and then later in Malthouse Lane, Washwood Heath. I wonder if anyone out there remembers him.
The first one is a no 25 which operated between West Bromwich and Sutton Coldfield via Kingstanding.
Its a West Bromwich Corporation Bus, destinated West Bromwich, so my guess is that its at the Scott Arms?
The second one is also a West Bromwich Corporation bus. It is destinated Birmingham to...

A woman was stabbed to death by her husband on a Saturday morning near the Highfield Road entrance. He also slashed their daughter. The park keepers got the knife off the man who...

Hi Billy,
I would have been in an older year at school but I can remember Geraldine Kinsella and her brother Keith.
Keith and I passed our 13 plus exam at the same time and both left Leigh Road to go to Bordesley Green Technical School.
If I remember right they lived Warren Road.
I knew Trevor...
Hi Tom,
My dad, Les Linnecor, had an uncle Alf and aunt May. Dads mothers maiden name was Ellen Lloyd. Please let me know if you obtain any more information.
Cheers
Les
Thanks for the information. My Grandmother Ellen Lloyd (Born 1892) in the Aston area married Arthur Linnecor. (See Linnecor thread).
It sounds as if this could be my Grandmother but I would need to see her marriage certificate to find out if her father was in fact Charles Lloyd.
Perhaps someone...
You have to buy a minimum of 5 credits and that will cost £11.69 including V.A.T. I made one search which cost me 1 credit.
Many thanks for the help that you gave me.
Les :)
Hems family living in Coleshill
Hi everyone,
I am trying to trace my cousin Philip Hems.
I know from the help that has already been given to me that he is married to Elaine and that they live somewhere in the Coleshill area.
I would love to meet up with them again but seem to have come up...
Just remembered! I used to have a schoolfriend in Ralph Road all those years ago. We both attended Bordesley Green Technical School late 50's early 60's. His name was John Sylvester.
