Hi, My daughter has a Peugeot 308, with a 1200 3 cylinder engine which goes like the proverbial. Tax is £20 per year. I have a 2003 Volvo V40 with a 1.8 engine. I have just had a renewal reminder, - it will cost me £200 for 6 months. Never mind! Kind regards Dave

Hi Paul, I only visited once, and that was over 50 years ago, so sadly I can't remember much about the cinema except that it was very awkward to get to from where I was living at the time! Kind regards Dave

    Fox and Goose/ Hodge Hill.

Hi Susi, My apologies for the error. There were hard times for the Company in the mid 80s, and many staff were made redundant,(including me). The staff knew about about Alsthom's intention to buy Metro but Alsthom was not associated with GEC then, and I had overlooked the fact that they had...

Hi Susi, Perhaps you are thinking of the Metropolitan Cammell Sports and Social club just past the right hand side of the map in MWS's link in post 2. Metro-Cammell was not a part of GEC or GKN. Kind regards Dave

    COLLIS Radio & TV

Hi Rosie, Perhaps you are thinking of George Felton's shop in Bearwood. He was well known to a chap I used to talk to on the radio, and when George died, - about 2016, I believe, - he sent me a picture of the shop which I am attaching. Kind regards Dave

    Moseley Kings Heath Line

Hi This alumnus would throw Cartland into the mix, as the school was built on Major Cartland's estate. Personally I would like Camp Hill for nostalgic reasons, but then I don't live in Brum now! Kind regards Dave

    St Edburgha's Church Yardley

Hi, The churchyard was landscaped over 60 years ago, and some of the gravestones were from recollection displayed against the back wall of the churchyard. I used to meet my girlfriend there on one of the benches behind the church in the very early 60's, and I married her there in 1965 ( in...

    Motorcycle Factory Location

Hi Heartland, Yes, it was pretty busy when I was there in the 50s and 60s, and not helped a great deal by the previous brick arch type bridge, which was not properly aligned with the road, resulting in you having to be pretty close before you got a decent view through it. It wasn't very wide...

Hi Heartland, I lived for 15 years in Frederick Road, just off Albert Road, and knew an old chap who had lived there since before World War 1. He had owned a Levis motorcycle himself, and obviously knew a lot about them. He told me that Levis used the circuit formed by Albert Road , Station...
