    Steam Locos

Yes , so very true Richard, you do have some real monsters still in steam in the States, "Big Boy" etc, real steam marvels, but I have always loved the UK steam loco designs so easy on the eye, and when compared to say European loco's.!!

    Temple Row

Quite fantastic, the change over the last 100 years in Birmingham, Viv, we have lost so many fine buildings, and with that goes am awful lot of history. Course change dos happen, but poor old Brum seems to have suffered more than most major city's, so glad we have this site to record it all !!

    Illey Fields Pub

When a lad, I lived in Hasbury Road Bartley Green, and every Sunday summer and winter, my dad would walk us all to the Black Horse at Iley, I don't remember any other pub, as a wayward youth I did like to drink, and visited most pubs in the area detailed in #1. Cannot recall a pub of that name. !!

Remember it well, and the sense of exciting adventure, quite tame to todays special effects, recordings, but for a 50's lad with not much, it was Dan Dare from the "Eagle" brought to life!!
