    Death registered twice?

Out of curiosity, does anyone know what date is put on a death certificate when the exact date of death is not known. For instance, if someone goes missing & the body is not found for considerable time. Would they use the date they were last seen?

    Granville Street Ladywood

I've often walked along Granville Street on my way into work & it's really interesting finding out about the older buildings that still remain. As for the canal bridge, I took these pictures from the bridge a couple of years ago. What a difference between the two - one towards the Mailbox, the...

    Paradise development 2020

I work right by these normally, but of course with the situation at the moment I'm working from home for the foreseeable future. Will be interesting to see what has changed when I go back - assuming any work will be done now.

They just fascinate me Something majestic about them. I remember seeing a documentary about the R101 when I was a kid. The Hindenburg too. Hasn't put me off wanting to go in one though!

Repair plea part two... Can anyone help with this? the photo is in a bit better shape, but it looks like I drew all over it (possibly around the age I was in the picture in my previous post! The one edge has been cut off, nothing important missing. My dad is the very blond chap standing up...

    tidy up please

Can anyone repair this? it's an old school picture of me, I'm guessing I'm about 5. Dad found it in a box of some of his old work papers a couple of years ago. He used to have it on his desk at work & it must have got picked up with the rest of his stuff & the box was is his shed for a decade...

    Cannon Hill Park

We used to go to the park & zoo a lot when I was little, it must have been a cheap day out in the school holidays! I loved the little museum with the stuffed animals at the zoo side entrance, and can remember a little petting zoo with sheep & goats & you could buy bags of food pellets to take...

    Birmingham museum and art gallery.

I don't remember the crab, but I remember a lemming in the Arctic section - in fact I made a point of pointing it out to my boyfriend at the time the once as my favourite exhibit! I do remember the natural history section very well, it's a shame it was broken up. I know some of it got damaged...

    Science Museum Newhall Street

I loved the old Science Museum. Many good memories - the planes hanging from the ceiling, the steam train that moved, the mock up of the Victorian children's nursery that my mom wouldn't go near 'cos the dolls gave her nightmares.... I last went in there in the 90's & was horrified to see...

    Elmdon Airport Birmingham International Airport

OK, I always assumed they were from Elmdon. Must have been fairly local though, Coventry maybe? They were pretty regular, not daily, but maybe 2 or 3 a week in the summer. Enough that they weren't a novelty, more 'here comes another airship'! They weren't advertising blimps, though I can...

    Elmdon Airport Birmingham International Airport

Can anyone tell me anything about airships from Elmdon Airport in the 1970's? I grew up near the airport & they were a fairly common sight in the summer. You'd hear the distinctive engine sound first. I was fascinated by them & always wanted to go in one - still would in fact. I think they...

Does anyone know anything about Hargrove Hall? That looks like it could be the location of the derelict house & stable yard I used when I kept a horse on that land.

    Elmdon Airport Birmingham International Airport

I don't know whether you still visit this site but.... I too spent a lot of time on this land from sound 1970 to 82/3. When I was little I used to ride on Alan Hadley's land (Whar Hall Farm), which was on the Damson Lane side of the hill. I'd occasionally ride at Castle Hills with friends...

    Canals of Birmingham

It's a great view, one I don't tire of even though I see it so often as it's right next to where I work! I won't see it for a while though as I'll be home working for the foreseeable future.
