    Fox and Grapes - Digbeth

    Such a shame this pub has gone, I used to pop in there a couple of times per month up until about 4 years ago or so and always had a warm welcome. There were some characters who used to drink in there, wonder where they have moved on to.

    It was also used on the best of Vol2 album cover. I used to drink in there a lot in the late 90's and ealy part of this century. At one point the did lovely meals in the back room.     Its still a lovely little boozer, the current landlord, Eddie, has been there a good few years now. I'm still unsure as to the relevance of Lilly Lantrey's next door, or is it just the name of the smoking area?

    lower essex st

    It was at one stage a pub and I believe went on to be the regional office of the TUC. It is sad to see such beautiful old buildings left to ruin. There are similar examples along the Bristol road near the junction of Wrentham street. I think there was development planned for the whole area...
