    Lickey Hills

I often did Bernie. I can still see and smell the 3p tickets, hear the bell clang and feel the rails under my seat, read my fortune from a machine at the Lickey terminal, get my hands, tongue and Sunday best stained with bilberries, Graham.

Balsall Heath Park - The 'little Park'

Don't know how I missed this thread as I'm even mentioned at its beginning! I was thrown many a time from that round-a-bout often sick as a pig from the speed the slide had witches steps that we never dared to stand on. The iron cup tasted terrible and many a time was used to wash our blood...

Thylacine, thanks for your IM and your very interesting thread. I must say that I can't recall the name Allard but there seems to be quite a lot of info on him; in Dutch! The 18th of September 1886 is recorded as a red letter day in the history of the Dutch Cycling Federation because F.W...

Thanks again Lyn, we seem to be getting there but it's the same for everyone, the clock ticks against us. When we were young about once a year we'd have a bad day, now it's once a year that we have a good day! I was just browsing the web and came across this interview but think I forgot to...

Holidays spent in Wales as a child.

On my late 50's cycle tour of Wales I also crossed the Menai Bridge into Anglesey making sure to visit the famous Red Wharf Bay. It's like a huge swimming pool, wonderful for the kids. Some nice photos here; https://www.cyclingnorthwales.co.uk/pages/red_whf_phot.htm
