Brummiegaffer, Welcome to the forum and you are quite right everyone on here is really friendly and I think that you should take 'dek' with a pinch of salt. When this thread started I was away on holiday so missed out on it. I was definitely a 'Mod' in the mid 60's and I too ran around on a...

With the time lag due to Postie being many light years away they must mean old pennies; I've still got one of them to spare but it does have a chicken on the back, will that suffice?:D

    Grandaughters love of wolves.

Lovely photos Jean and my admiration goes out to Jemma for caring about animals that don't have a very good reputation. My little granddaughter loves dinos, crocodiles and sharks, anything with lots of sharp teeth! Hope she doesn't adopt one and ask me to cuddle it. :D

Mike, interesting to see that you were in the Saracen, I had some friends in that club and you might like to see this 1963 result sheet from the Beacon 100 kms Mountain Time Trial. There are three names on it of Saracen riders, Lloyd, Pain & Quinton; do/did you know them...

Mike, it's nice to know that someone from the forum actually read the interview. If you take it up again after all these years please take it easy as I know from experience that we still have the brain of a racing cyclist but the body of an OAP! Take care, Graham.

    poppy day....

Did you know that the Flemish people still get maimed or killed by WWI bombs and ammunition? Every time a farmer ploughs his fields he risks getting blown to bits! Almost every day farmers pile bombs up at the side of their fields and hope that the bomb disposal squad will find time to collect...

In Belgium they certainly never forget those that fell in the Great War. The 11th November has always been a national holiday of remembrance and the Belgian monarch pays his respects to war veterans also laying flowers on the Brussels monument for the Unknown Soldier. At the moment there are...

Did you have a scrap book as a child?.

Jean, the only one that I can remember making was filled up with images of toadstools & mushrooms. I then wrote as much info as I could find about each one under each image. Graham.

    Have a cuppa

brumgum, I think that I follow a Brum tradition and make tea that you can stand your spoon up in mixed with milk and sugar, the thought alone makes most Belgians cringe! BUT, I have converted most that have the misfortune to see me enjoying a cuppa. When my kids and grandkids come round (that's...
