Urgent! Just passing by the demolition site on Great Hampton Street two doors down from the Clifden Pub and some signs have been exposed. A few mobile pics taken but someone with proper camera gear needs to get there ASAP before they disappear forever.

I’m struggling to convince people that there was a bowling green at the back of the pub. If you have any maps showing it that would be great. Also a general appeal for any more old photos of this lovely pub would be great.

I suspect the roof you can see middle bottom includes the pub! For others for reference Great Hampton Street is the straight road on the right with Branston St to the left.

Thats the building bottom centre of this old photo. White building is corner of Hall St where the Quartz block and Tesco is now.

Can I also be really cheeky and ask if you have any info as to what was in the Empire Building. I believe part of this site was a button factory at some point. Cheers

That's the corner of my building which is the one little bit not owned by the apartment block! It's been empty for some time but would make a nice little private space for about 6 cars!
