    I would say the same about the reputation of the school, I went to Yardley Wood senior school for 2 years and never really liked it there, but found Wheelers Lane a lot better for me personally.

    The bus returning to garage up Yardley Wood Road was great, drove this bus a few times myself running back in from Baldwins Lane terminous off the 91s, with the conductor on the back seat counting his money up to save time when he got into garage.

    I have a copy of Bradshaws guide, he produced the nations first railway timetable in 1839 and died in 1853 but his staff continued to carry on with the publications and the final timetable was produced in 1963.

    The name Roy Herbert rings a bell, I have sent this on to a mate of mine who I met when we started school together in 1942, Micheal Terry, he has a much better memory than me, small world isn,t it.

    Hello Shortie. I dont recall your cousins but probably knew them, do remember the cows on the dell though as I used to walk across the dell to get to school, and we used to play football over there and fish for newts in the pond, as you say difficult to believe these days.

    Which school did you go to Maypolebaz?. I lived in Highters Rd. and went to Grendon Rd. school, then Wheelers Lane. a bit older than ou hough, was born in "37.

    Hardings still had Horse and carts delivering the bread and cakes in 1952, I went to work there for a month after leaving school on the vans and carts before starting as an apprentice painter and decorator.
