    police houses in Water Orton

    elle-jay I got some of my Water Orton books from Coleshill Library, so check there first. Gascoignes funeral directors are ok for the local books, also Carters electrical shop used to sell local things, pictures etc, they are just by Tesco Direct in Coleshill. Happy hunting :)

    Thankyou Terry and Chris, I am getting quite abit of background info now on my grandfather, have copied the picture Terry and been onto the site. I also went onto the Fovant site, (local history) and managed to get alot of info of that, which was very interesting. Once again thankyou :)

    At one time the water from Rowton Well in Sutton Park was carried to the Eye Hospital daily by a horse drawn tank. It was claimed to possess mineral qualities of special value to cure diseases of the eyes. Wouldn't it be nice if the water from the well was still around today!!! :)
