    Harborne

    I believe the Vickers bakery was built in 1953 on the site of some old 18th Century cottages, the bakery was demolished in the 1980's and replaced with replica cottages.

    It seems that Semi's did reach new Street in the 1960's https://www.warwickshirerailways.com/lms/lnwrbns_br2003.htm I've read before that the ballast on railway lines has been raised, reducing the clearances that are available.

    Sadly, in the 1960's all the GWR buildings were swept away and one of the island platforms was shut, leaving a station that was a shadow of its former self. if you stand on the platform, you can see the Midland railway's Camp Hill line, which crosses the GWR Birmingham Snow Hill- London...

    Sadly I've only known the line as the Harborne walkway, which I have walked. The line was shut as a result of the beeching Axe in November 1963, by then it was goods only. Passenger services had ceased in november 1934, when the line was operated by the LMS. There was a branch to the mitchells...

    He was probably one of the last passengers of the old Snow Hill, before it was wantonly demolished.
