Some people still confuse "their" with "there" and "they're", and the other mistake you sometimes see is "your" and "you're".

    Dennis John Norton's Photographs

I agree with what's been said before, another fantastic collection of old pictures. Some of Dennis's pictures have been used on the Warwickshire railways site.

    Phyllis Nicklin Photos

She took some great pictures, and has provided a fantastic archive, and I think the colour aspect is a bonus. https://www.pbase.com/beppuu/pnicklin (Edit, link no longer working) New link here http://epapers.bham.ac.uk/view/people/Nicklin=3APhyllis=3A=3A.html

They Were Caught In Our Old Street Pics...

Five Ways didn't change a great deal until the 1950's, now it looks very different! Is that the clock that's still there today?

I still say Railway Stations, but new words appear and older ones are lost, including thus and luncheon, among others.

Newspapers : From Birmingham Post 150 years ago

Thanks for sharing this information, good to see that some people cared about old buildings back then.

    Halesowen Railway

Those are nice memories, I have had a look round both the Harborne and Halesowen lines myself. Were you a passenger on the June 1950 SLS Special to Harborne and other places, I've seen pictures of that!

Oh right, good to know! We'll go back to the original topic...

    The Roundhouse

That has cleared that up, sending coal to Monument Lane would be easier that way.

    The Roundhouse

I'd assume that horses would get the coal to the Loco shed, maybe by pulling barges. Good question though!

    Worst car of the 1960's

Just goes to show how cars have improved since then in terms of reliability and safety, nevertheless I old like some 1960's cars.

Oh I see, it seems odd that the South tunnel wouldn't have enough clearance. If an 8P had to get to Aston MPD, it seems that would be the route.

Oh right, do you remember the goods yard at Stechford?

You also get a handful of 170's and 153's.

Sutton Coldfield to Stirling Motorail Car Sleeper

I didn't know that there was a Motorail terminal at Kings Norton, however the goods yard was used as a loading facility for cars from the Austin at Longbridge.

It has been enjoying reading all these memories, the Railways have lost some variety since then!

    New Street Station From 1854 - 1966

Re: The (new ) New Street Station It was the large LNWR roof that was removed due to bomb damage, the smaller roof that covered the Midland Railway side remained as it was until the 1960's rebuilding.
