    New Street Station From 1854 - 1966

I had a nose on that site, good shots they are. This link is slightly more direct... https://www.mirrorpix.com/?77747130448317740800

Funny you should say that, I forgot about the Bell! Bishop's croft and Harborne Hall are still in use (the hall providing temp accommodation last year for Harborne primary), as is the Bell Inn. It's still a nice part of Harborne with St Peter's and the other old buildings but I don't go there...

New Street Station (phased redevelopment completed 2015)

You've got some nice memories to look back on! From what I've seen, the Old Snow Hill appeared to be a nicer station than the old New Street, it's good that both stations are open today.

New Street Station (phased redevelopment completed 2015)

I've seen pics of the old place and I wouldn't mind going back in time to see it properly! Did you ever visit the old Snow Hill often and if so, which station did you prefer out of the two?

I forgot about that one. That leaves us with the Sportsman, the Green man, the Plough, Harborne Stores, the Proverbial, the Junction and the White horse. .

New Street Station (phased redevelopment completed 2015)

Yes that's right, the other end of the platform was only removed recently, as you say it was parcels and stabling only, in addition to the sidings by the signal box. The closest thing to loco hauled trains you get now are the HST's.

That's true, doubling up doesn't always work sadly. I take it you are aware of the bay platform by platform 12, I only discovered it the other day.

    History of Cars.

I'll have to have a read of this, thanks for sharing.

Nice shots there, it's a shame that not much can be done to fix the capacity issues.

Ah that was a whole load of fuss! The Kings Arms had been derelict for a number of years news owner bought it, and did it up as the huntsman. It then suffered a fire about a year ago and lost most of the roof. The gutted remains of the roof were then knocked down by the wind into the High Street...

Were you aware that the Golden cross and Duke of York pubs have been demolished?

That is interesting, I take it you have heard about the recent demolition works here?

    St Gabriel's Italian Church Deritend

It's a nice building, we first noticed it during the St Paddy's day parade.

    The Huntsman - Harborne

There was also the Golden Cross on the corner of Harborne Lane and Metchley Lane, which was demolished about five years ago.

What I've also noticed is that some people use the word "weekend" as a verb!

I don't blame you, although I've grown up with Metric measurements so I'll stick to them! Do you miss the old pre decimal money, 240 pence to a pound etc?
