    This is the first time in 42 years that we don't have to stay up all Christmas Eve/Christmas day wrapping presents, all done. This is the first time in 42 years that I've got to cook Christmas dinner, HELP !!

    Vinegar on the pie is traditional, it probably stems back to when you couldn't be sure what exactly went in the the pie and it acted as some sort of antiseptic !

    What about jellied eels ? Also chicken livers with stilton and cream and a dash of cognac, great on wholemeal toast. I also like pie and liquor when I go to London, with vinegar on the pie.

    It's a great cheese but you haver to " self isolate " it, haha, as it corrupts all other foodstuff in your fridge, tasty though.

    I know the feeling Viv, got a turkey that serves 14-18 people, a piece of pork for 10 and a piece of sirloin for 10, we are now down to 4 for Christmas. On top of that our online delivery for fresh veg inform us tonight, no parsnips, no onions, no potatoes and no no cauliflower.

    Oh my. I do feel sorry for you and if we wasn't in Tier 1 I would suggest you all come over into Herefordshire where we have the best pork pies, sausages, bacon and fish and chips, and hot beef rolls, you don't know what you are missing, sorry !
