    Catkin, The name was Sloovenhook or similar left Villa just after the air crash with the Man U. players on board. He left to play for United. There was a TV shop on the corner of Bevington Road, owned by Leslie Smith an ex Villa and England international.

    Funny I should pick this up today. I was thinking of a similar queue on Saturday mornings at Rudders and Payne, Aston Hall Road. I was a regular. We were after the off-cuts of timber, for firewood (1940-1945 ish).

    Lovers Walk, Aston. Hi everyone, You can take it from me 110% that Lovers Walk was alongside the railway. It ran from Aston Hall Road to Lichfield Road. The Houses were back to back. I had a school friend who lived there. I frequented the area a lot in late 40s early 50s.
