    Jeannie If i remember old Dr Chitnis as we called him was a small man with Glasses, his son was much taller, this was back in the sixty's, dont think old Chitnis worked much as he must of been retirement age, his son must be if still alive in his late eighty's now

    My great aunt and uncle( Finch), granddad (Breakwell) and my mother( Flynn) worked there and i also loved going to the shop ,plenty of Easter eggs and chocs at Xmas

    When at school in late sixtys a school friends dad worked at British Gas and we went on a Friday night Gas had some sort of membership i think for family and friends

    Love the photos even though i never came from this part of Brum, never seen any photos taken in my area of Hodge Hill around the area of Millinghton, Oakdale, Erminghton, Chipperfield area cant remember Parents and Neighbours took photos of there streets , i only have a couple of family photos...

    Used to drive these on a few occasions with WMPT back in the 80´s one of the most boring routes you could have as a driver, short trips not much of a lay over at Masshouse car park in and out again think it was every 1/2 a hour ¿, can´t remember was it a 1.00 a trip ¿

    Love looking at these then and now even though did not come from the area , but parents used to visit friends in the area back in sixtys and early seventys and loved catching the buses from Cas Brom in to town and out again

    Cant comment on WW2 Records for the RAF , But my Wife wanted to get her Fathers WW2 Army Records, along with the application form, Birth and Death Certificate and fees (only can pay for by Cheque ) she sent off to Glasgow for them she knew that it would take about 6 months (thats what they say)...

    Joined the navy 1972 at the old Naval Careers office facing Bingley hall , there was a cafe there and its where my Mom gave me a packet of 20 Sovereign cigarettes for the train journey to Ipswich did not know she new i smoked as a 15 year old.
