    I remember my uncle Paddy Hogan [Stoke St] worked for the Co-Op as a coalman he never made a mess on Moms wallpaper while delivering the coal and Mom had the Co-Op divi to look forward to.We lived in a tiny house up a courtyard in Bell Barn rd .We didn't have a cellar and the coal had to come...

    Aprons and pinnies A lovely reminder of my mom who used to treat herself to a new apron each christmas .She was an amazing cook and took pride in her appearance,hence her apron to protect her best dress.

    Thanks to everyone who has posted concerning this area of the oldend. I too played on the bomb sites of Wynn st ,Cregoe st ,Bell Barn rd,Bow st and Bell Barn rd where I was born ,happy days.
