As part of his lockdown homework my grandson has been given a list of symbols found on an ordnance survey map to identify. All satisfactory except for one which is X (a red coloured X)
Despite looking at my OS maps and a search on Google I can't find this. Is there a knowledgeable forum...
Just seen this post. Surely not true? Were there really armed vigilantes patrolling the streets of a Birmingham suburb? I have never heard of such a thing. RIFLES SLUNG OVER THEIR SHOULDERS?
You say you noticed them which implies you actually saw them. Did anyone report them to the...
At the risk of straying off topic I think a lot of pseudo french phrases were brought back with soldiers returning from the Great war. Plonk is one example (Vin Blanc), San Fairy Ann (Ca ne fait rien) is another. Those two phrases are known throughout the country so why particular ones such as...
Alberta you are so right. During my years researching family history I joined several geneaology and history sites. I now only visit two regularly and by far the best one (Visited several times daily) is BHF. The information given so freely and helpfully by so knowledgeable members on this site...
Can someone please advise me as to how to post a short video from my camera to the forum. When posting photographs I open them in Paint and reduce the size. However I don't seem to have the option with a video can someone advise?
If you want to post the picture, open the picture in Paint, choose resize and reduce to 50%. and then save. Then post in the normal way. Hope this works for you.

sorry picture gone missing
Saw a programme on t.v. a few weeks ago featuring a couple of Herefordshire farmers who started making their own crisps using locally sourced ingredients. Although not the cheapest we decided to send for a boxed of mixed flavoured crisps. Have to admit they are certainly the best crisps we've...
In my class at grammar school was a lad named Martin (?) Evans who lived in one of those houses in Horrel Road about half way along between Church Rd and the Library.
Jen Parker I was unable to get hold of the pictures that I might have had, I'm sorry but I did come across this which may be of some interest to you https://michaelneatstories.wordpress.com/2019/07/31/the-tragedy-of-tommy-ball/
Do you know when Tommy was in the team. I have just given my son a couple of books showing cigarette card of Villa players and teams from long ago uptil the late 20th C. I will ask him to look for a picture and then forward it yo you if there is one.
Watched a programme today regarding memorable F.A. Cup finals. A couple of stills showing Ray Watson enjoying the post match celebrations with the winning Sunderland side.
