    I think this is a bit confusing as I believe looking at the photo they are in the process of covering the railway tunnel with concrete beams.After which the road approaching the Queenway Tunnel at the Suffolk st end would be built.The entrance to the Queenway would be to the right of the photo.Dek

    Thanks Phil only last Tuesday I travelled this Route it has changed very little over the years and you could stand in the photographers footsteps and retake anyone of the last 5 photos with the same picture.Dek

    Looking at the photo again i,m guessing the photo is early 30s on the left in the distance there appears to be a bus type vehicle I very much doubt any public transport used the Queslett Rd then as it would I think have been mostly rural.Dek

    It,s always been the Old Walsall Rd.Hampstead Rd is completely different and forks off at the bottom of the hill and goes across to the Newton Rd.
