    I knew the Bakers Jim I was friends with Kens brother Reg for many years he managed our football team back in the 60s they lived at the bottom of the hill in Churchill Rd.

    I think The Moby Dick was originally called the Eagle and Ball but that was on the corner of Penn St and Gospel St its still there (just about)

    Can,t say I remember this Cafe It must have been more like a tea room. The cafe I do recall was the Minerva this was the middle shop of 3 between Smithfield Garage and Oxford St run by 2 brothers with their sister doing the cooking in the back seems a bit strange to be so close together.

    That slide was still there in the late 50s although Lawford St had gone. The park was on the corner of St James Place and Vauxhall Rd there was a set of 4 swings and a roundabout and the parky Lanky Jack

    Next the Market Hall on Gosta Green in 1963. It was built in 1837, probably demolished soon after the photo. This was not on Gosta Green but was on AB Row same area though the building lasted some time maybe 70s J Saville Gordon later moved to the corner of Vauxhall Rd opposite the White...
