    Coventry Road Police station

    i once spent a couple of hours in this police station,about 1952, i was 4 years old and my mum mislaid me at the woolworths a bit further up coventry rd,they fed me jam butties til my mum came to reclaim me.i wonder if she was tempted to leave me for a couple of days to give her a break.

    i was courting christine goldsborough many moons ago in the early sixties,thats how i met johnnie stokes,we used to speak to him on the phone he had set up in the barrel from the managers office at the rink; and i went to his house once with christine.

    have you tried good hope cemetery in sutton? my father lived in holly lane and he is buried at good hope cemetery. it is next to good hope hospital, i am not sure what road it is on.

    i remember the waste ground in mona rd, we where always sat on the wall in front of it, do you remember alan gardiner, pauline lewis, the berries,and roger butcher, i have quite a few good memories of st andrews rd & mona rd, and kingston park footie games

    there was eight of us at one time, i know all about topping & tailing, i went to bed one night and there was an almighty crash; the bed collapsed and there i was sat with my head through the slatted headboard i'm lucky i've still got my ears,:D

    I lived in a back to back house on sherlock street. we lived there for about 15 years; i loved living in that area, the people where real characters, but i was glad when we where offered a house in st andrews road with a back and front door and a kitchen that you could use without falling down...

    Which Cemetery?

    there is a cemetery next to good hope hospital in sutton coldfield with a large catholic section; my father is laid to rest there, he died in erdington so i think this cemetery may cover that area. I am not sure of the name ,it may be called good hope but i am sure someone will know on this...

    births in meriden are registered at solihull, I was born in meriden in 1948 and recently had to apply for a copy of my birth certificate from solihull. hope thats some help
