Thanks Mikejee for the hunting snippet, Juke of Rutland's Belvoir Castle is just 2 miles from me across the fields, Buckminster is still a lovely estate village, with a lovely pub! The Belvoir Hunt were out on Saturday again with the followers clogging up the lanes, at least the fox's get away...

Here's another photo of Central Firemen, Dad looks quite young on this one so perhaps early 1940s. i do not know about this incident i'm afraid,but worthy of a photo in the Birmingham Gazette. Perhaps you may recognise some one?

Phil theses are great photo's i just about remember the 'old' shops and having a few pints in the Harlequin in the 1970s, an excellent pint of draught Double Diamond as i remember. And i even married a girl who lived on Shard End Crescent. still together 35 years later !
