    See Birmingham by Post Card

Great picture. Love the steam tram. Is the man with the suitcase, so busy watching the policeman before he opens it to sell its contents illegally, that he has not realised he is about to be exterminated by the tram!!! Every picture tells a story.

    Birmingham Sand

oldMohawk. I can also confirm the sandpit at 'A' on your aerial pictures as I have lived at the end of Harbeck Avenue - the cul-de-sac to the left of the 'A' - since 1967 and remember the sandpit at the end of my garden. This was before the houses on Blenheim Way, shown on the 2007 view, were...

Remember it well. The sink was a trough and I was at the drain end with all the other children's blood flowing infront of me!! No wonder I am terrified of dentists.

Yes Mike, I am sure the picture was taken from the doorway of the Star Inn. These are all great pictures and bring back many childhood memories of this area. Rob

    Bridge Street West

It was the location of the block of flats - Hertford House (now demolished) - that made me think it was Well St not Gt King St. (And as a lad I used to ride my three wheeler bike round the Lucas factory - their slab pavements made a better sound than the bricks everywhere else!)
