    Chamberlain Square Place

No I'm not sure of anything, but it does look like a church, at least the section behind the fountain does. It is definitely in Brum. Dave A

Rummaging during the pandemic, I found this photo taken in Birmingham around 1964. I thought it was taken at St Phillips. However, looking at pictures on Google, I realize that it is not. It could have been St Chads...anyone? Dave A

    The Girl From Guildford Street

Just received my copy of THE GIRL FROM GUILDFORD ST. I'm not a reader but I did feel the need to check this out. Although we are a generation apart, we still shared a similar growth environment that didn't change much until the 70's. I lived quite close to you...Paddington St, just over halfway...

Good music to listen to on U Tube

And before R&R, the blues was called Satan's music...I guess that anything that yielded influence other than the church, was considered Satanic. I have often spoke of the fact that we...(us lot) were the first generation to have our own music. Up to this point, we shared and listened to what our...

    Newey Bros. Ltd.

Does anyone remember the work at home from Newey's....it consisted of looping a ribbon through a press stud of some kind. Our mom used to do them by the 1000's, Didn't pay very much...something like a 1/2 penny per 100, maybe not even that much. I'm not sure what they were for, but I do feel it...

    Moseley Road Baths

Very good shots indeed! Couldn't help thinking about the terminology...Baths! The swimming facilities were also referred to as "baths", is this still the case? Since many of us back then had no indoor plumbing, the "baths" were the place to experience a weekly treat of sitting in a real tub. The...

Not sure if anyone here likes the music of Black Sabbath...but they are from Brum and Tony Iommi himself posted this UT video on Facebook. Amazing that this guy from Scotland covers every riff from their repertoire, enjoy if you can. Dave A

Good music to listen to on U Tube

Fair enough...not good to argue with friends on BHF. However, if I could recommend an instant improvement in sound quality, a DAC which (as you know) is a Digital to Analog Converter, is available in many forms and prices. A Dragonfly USB plug in will give a big difference in sound. I have the...
