    City Centre Photographs

To my reckoning it was right where the hole to the library is now.

Yup, Josie, that worked. (Seems there's some sort of celebration/commemoration going on with all those flowers.)

Try again, Josie. That attachment didn't work.

That's the only location I can recall it in too but I've heard it used to be somewhere around New Street originally.

    Handsworth

We left Handsworth about three months ago but even now, when we drive through to visit our daughter, we can see how it's gone down since we left. It seems nobody there has any interest in their environment any more. A lot of the neglect can be attributed to "Rackman" type landlords who buy up...

I would like to share this with you.....

Nice pictures. It's great to see so many young people enjoying themselves by helping others. (Hey, that's some stretched limo behind them in the first shot, eh?)

I don't think his appearance is that unusual for the era. I guess I used to go around with a similar look around that time. I'd probably run like that as well if the E Type I'd nicked had just run out of petrol. :friendly_wink:

    Items that have faded away

Haha!... It's to payback the billions borrowed from the UK for the bail-out and Enda Kelly's new suit. :crushed: Anyway, the British Dog Licence was abolished in 1987.

    Handsworth

The last I heard was when a sculptor was moving into the habitable part while the rest was still the HQ of the Handsworth History Society. (Although it's accessible from Slack Lane and College Road I can see how you'd get intoit from Oxhill Road, which is the other end of Slack Lane.)

That looks like a view of Kruk Cottage to me which is on College Road.

Every year, during the Lord Mayor's Appeal, a wire fence would be placed around the water spout at the centre of the fountain and folk would toss their coins over it in way of donations to the charity. As little scallies, we often paddled in there to collect anything that had fell short for our...

Peaky Blinders - A world away from Downton!

That's how I imagined them from what I heard when I was growing up in Winson Green - just a rough lot of blokes from Aston - much to rough for us to mix with. BTW, I read the war error as being World War Eleven!!!

Peaky Blinders - A world away from Downton!

Having missed the last two episodes I caught up on iPlayer. Like most, since seeing those optic measures attached to bottles in the pub, I have given up seeing it as historical fact. I am now enjoying it even more as a good TV series, especially Annabelle Wallis. What else could you ask for...
