    Science Museum Newhall Street

If my memory serves me, the Japanese crab was in a glass case on the wall, above a door I think. It was 60 years ago when I last visited, it all looks so modern inside now. We have to be thankfull that such a wonderfull building still survives.

Spent hours in the late 50,s early 60,s exploring the art gallery and museum. Things that stand out were the sphinx as you went in then the fantastic tiger in the glass case and the massive Japanese crab. The whole building had it,s own smell, never noticed it in other museums! After the art...

    Tyburn House Entertainment

Hello Michael, what year did you hang out at the Tyburn? Do you remember Chiefy Chambers, big tall lad, rode a BSA. He hated Triumphs, called them "Rubber irons". His favourite trick was to stamp on your gear change if you sat there revving the guts out of your engine. Some nights he would turn...

    Old Haulage Firms.

Chrs Ray, you are correct, they had some old trucks if I remember correctly. We used to call the 65 bus terminus "the trams", the trams terminated in the central reservation and ran down the middle of the road. But no doubt you know that. They turned them back at Stockland Green in the snow...

Cheers Ray, I will dig it out. Years ago I had about 30 shed plates. My mom gave them to the scrap man when I was working away! WTF.

Thought it was, such a shame to see the state of the box knowing what pride the signalmen took in their boxes. It was demolished shortly after, "bells no more". Yes they were good days, when the world was a nicer place. Do they use the Divi line much now do you know? Cheers Alan.

Was Proof house the box on the the right at the top of the grade from the tunnels. If it was we had a look round it when it had been closed and stripped out. The local vandals had been in there but I did find an old train register in all the rubbish on the floor but I think it was from the early...

It got its name from the stetchford line embankment near the Derby line. That was the thrill of spotting in those days, you never knew what was going to turn up. When the Bullieds turned up in Birmingham on the football specials was one of the more spectacular I remember. I saw them from the...
