    poihipi The Roebuck (Village Inn) is on the corner of Hurst st and Skinner Lane, Claybrook st is the next road up heading towards the Hippadrome. The 2 roads are only 30yards apart.

    Does anyone know if there were ever a police house in Barrows lane near the junction with Coventry rd. The period i have been asked to look for is the 1950s. I know there were police houses at the junction of Coventry rd and Lyndon rd, and wonder if there is some conffusion here. Thanks Robert.

    New Birmingham library plans

    I took four of my Grand Chidren yesterday( one severn year old two eight year olds and one ten year old ) to show them the new library and asked them what THEY thought of the design, all four gave it the thumbs up. So perhaps we should look at these new buildings through our young citizens eyes.

    Yes Ken, it went some time ago. I lived behind the Church and from our bedroom window we could see the vicarage being built, round about 1960.

    Thanks ken, theres a little picture begining to build up now. The nursery was behind the toilets, i cant remember them ever being open i think they were demolished in 1960.
