Prefab in Church Road Perry Barr

Ah right, I had a feeling they might have been in that area. I lived in Perry Barr and I went to St John's Brownies so I know Church Road quite well but I can't quite picture the prefabs. Hopefully it might be possible for someone to find you a photo!

Prefab in Church Road Perry Barr

I can't recollect any prefabs either - would they have been near the flats in Perry Villa Drive? Not sure when they were built but maybe in the 60s?

    Perry Barr

Not sure but it could be the island at the top end of Cliveden Avenue, just where it meets Crantock Road?

National Trust Back to Back houses and memories of them

It's a new side to the Hippodrome! I know some of it was added when the Royal Ballet moved to Birmingham in the early 90s I think, they had very nice rehearsal studios added, someone I knew took me to have a look around.

The Factory in Gas Street late 60’s

Hallo @humbleseeker me again! I went to The Factory a few times, once to see Breakthru (remember them?) and also to see Bakerloo Blues line and a couple of the other of Jim Simpson's Big Bear Folly bands. I think the most memorable night was in August 68 when my friend and I went to see Tim...

    Soho Road Handsworth

I also worked at the DHSS on Soho Road for a couple of years, early 80s I think. Looking at Google maps I think it must have been this place but I can't remember the original name....

Witton Book Link and 1970 THE GHOST on a Radio show

I do remember Danny, probably spoke to him a few times, seemed a very nice guy. I'm very sorry to hear he's no longer with us :( Yes, the year's certainly fly by, happy times though :) Annie

Witton Book Link and 1970 THE GHOST on a Radio show

Yes, I know he lives in the South East now. The last time I saw him was in the late 90s in London when I had just moved down there from Brum. By strange coincidence we were both living in the same area and very close to one another, I saw him a few times and went to hear him play piano in a pub...

    Opposite Lock Club

Yes I did read about that on the BBC Birmingham website yesterday :( l live in London now (where that sort of thing is happening all the time sadly) so I wouldn't be eligible to appeal. Very sad times, I never went to the Opposite Lock but I did go to the sister club The Factory which was in...

    Rationing

Yes, when I worked at a Saturday job in a grocery store back in the late 60s I remember Lurpac was the most expensive butter so I guess the best!

    Street furniture

Apologies as this isn't really on topic but the electric street poles on Japan really amazes me! I guess it's something to do with potential earthquakes - safer above ground?

I'm not getting any ads on my phone now - just blank spaces in parts which is fine by me

    Rationing

I was too young to understand anything about rationing although it was still on in early 50s but reading about the margarine made me think about my Nan, she was a big fan of loose Danish Tub butter so it must have been a hard time for her
