    Thanks....this is one hell of a ghost family.......Charles has his mother as Gertrude on the Army papers but cannot tie this down to anyone and no Birth marriage or death listed for her. On various things the father has different names but on a Birth cert for Charles which says Gertude is Mother...

    Its free search weekend on Findmypast and a chance to nail down family members at a property on Cheapside......Charles William Bayley gives his address as 25 Court 8 House on army records...a marriage cert and a couple of birth certs around 1921 but do you think I can find any record for this...

    At The Library of Birmingham today and found that my relatives were at 20 Tower Road in 1971 and most of the houses we gone by 1972. Well I say he was there in 71 but he died early that year but dont know when the register was dated ( forgot to look ). Anyway No 20 was not on the register......

    Another train of thought was that she helped out with charing and certainly her Aunt ( Beatrice) cleaned at Bulpits - probably Camden St along with her Mother ( Ivy's Gran).....and also another Aunt Leah got married and for a time lived in Camden St (need to confirm date but almost sure around...

    O.M.G. you have all been busy......in the photo she was Ivy May Bayley and name changed in 53 to Poole.... IF she was with her grandmother and Aunts/Uncles they lived in 1/66 Cheapside but cant say precisely when they left until they turn up at Firsby Rd in Quinton in 1939.

    thanks everyone........we came upon this photo yesterday. Its my wifes Mom and all she ever told her was that she helped out doing Charing with her Gran and Aunt...She is on the 1939 register with them in Quinton and they did pubs etc locally but also at Bulpits in Town.....the aunt died in 1940...

    More recognisable for me in picture 2 but only just. I only knew this area for a few years as I attended the Mathew Boulton School of printing from 1969-72. Even then the Uni buildings dominated things on the left side of Aston St.
