    school My first school was Redhill road,mom was more upset than me when she left me there.Then when it was holiday time she couldn't wait for school to open again. My children went to Lakey Lane in the seventies.

    My grandparents lived 107 Frederick Road up to my grandmothers death at the age of 39 in 1939,with all the talk about everything changing,does anyone know if that house is still standing,If it is I would like to go and take a photo of it.

    MMMmmmmm.....

    Can you still get those pink spearmint bars or choc stix they were like boiled sweet stick with chocolate in the middle same shape as the barley sugar stick and the five boys chocolate.

    What went into the dustbin?

    There was nothing like a real fire is there, we sat there while mom done the toast used butter then,not these spread's you get now,there wasn't much in the bin's everything now is over packaged,look at the milk in supermarkets we only had milk in bottles that were returnable.

    Lucas Memories site

    Ex Lucas Employee Lucas site is great,I worked 18 years at Marshal Lake/shaftsmoor Lane I remember so many of the people on the photo's. I check back now and again to see if any more have been added. It was a lovely place to work,shame we have lost all these large firms.

    Royal Coronations : Birmingham response

    I was given a money box in the shape of a crown,It was very fancy,gold and red,does anybody else remember them,I don't think our parent's bought them I think they were given to lot's of children maybe from school,maybe somebody can tell us.
