    Plimmer Billy (William Henry)

On the 1921 census William appears to be in Hove at 52 Waterloo St. He is listed as a Hotel Proprietor. In 1911 he is in Sheffield listed as a Publican, not an uncommon profession for ex-boxers I think. The George Plimmer at 141 Broadway is his brother I think, both being illegitimate sons of a...

    Sear Arthur Albert

It does appear that Beryl may have been adopted. On her marriage to Bertram Moore she is listed as both Beryl J Sear and Beryl J Compton. There is a matching birth reg. for a Beryl J Compton in Kings Norton district, no mmn (illegitimate).

Is that from Ancestry Lyn? I assume she's still blanked out, on findmypast she appears to have been unblanked.

    Sear Arthur Albert

Beryl is with Arthur, Annie, Kenneth & his wife on the 1939 register. Born 1924, I've assumed she's Arthur and Annie's daughter even though there's no relationship info. All this is inferred from the search results, I haven't seen the transcript or scan. Could have been adopted maybe.

    Sear Arthur Albert

On a side note, the 2 daughters of George Moody and Emma Banks must have had a sad early life. Dad died in 1901, mom died in 1904, and then they appear to have gone to live with their aunt (dad's sister) and uncle in Runcorn and she dies in 1909.

    Farm near Aston Hall

Assuming that there's no poetic license then with the position of the church and Aston Hall then it must have been to the north of the church. Difficult to say how far north, maybe between the river Tame and the church?

    Morgan, Henry William

Sorry, that's my mistake, it's the same person - all should be Henry William.

    Morgan, Henry William

There are no matching birth reg. for the siblings mentioned for the 1882 William Henry Morgan, so I'd say the 1885 is still correct. He is the one associated with the address you gave. There don't appear to be any children from his first marriage.

    Sear Arthur Albert

Possibly confusing a number people with the name Sears and Sear. There are 2 people named Arthur Sears b c1903 listed on the 1939 Register but they are both Arthur T (Thomas/Tom), one born Aston the other born Pontypridd. One of them died in 1969. However there is an Arthur Albert Sear b reg...

Not the best of pictures but for a 100 she appears remarkably well. A nice read with a couple of little titbits of Bham history.

    Birmingham?

After Edgar's mom re-married they lived at 23 The Grove, Bordesley Park Road. His mom and sister's family were still there in 1939. All gone by the time of the photo I think but it's near the railway and there are some open spaces which could have been used to keep horses.

    Birmingham?

Perhaps if you can tell us your grandad's address or name someone may be able to compare the picture to the maps of the time and see if any of the buildings match.
