    I worked in and around Vyse Street for over 30 years and never heard it pronounced any other way than Vice Street.

    Scribbans Bakery

    Our yard was one of those that backed onto where Scribbans parked there vans. When they left in the 60s we used it for a footy/cricket pitch.

    I used to go to the Palladium in the early 60s, they had a competition one saturday morning to see who could dance the best to Chubby Checkers The Twist .

    Kingstanding

    I would be interested to know if there was a Ex Service on Kingstanding Road. Only one i know of is in Warren Farm , as far as i know this was started about 1950 by some lads who had just left the army and went on to be long serving members of the committee.

    Handsworth New Road School

    Mr Jackson was the name of the man who looked after the allotment up until 1971 when i left. We played football on Black Patch and the Uplands.

    Had some great nights in Bogarts , there was another beer keller in Needlass alley as well
