    The Outer Circle

Remember it well Alan, sometimes the ST in stamp was altered to D as well. I lived in Ashburton then Buckfastleigh for a while in the early 1950's and used the Devon General a lot then.

    BCT Tramways Band

Thanks to Carl Chinn's Brummagem Magazine two more photos including the band have come to light which are probably a tribute to one of the victims of the 1907 tram accident in Warstone Lane as both were of the funeral procession after the accident.

Where in Birmingham was this taken ??

City centre buildings could have survived with sensible planning of of the inner ring road and provision of well signed secure, adequate, affordable, efficient Park and Ride facilities outside the city centre. There could have been central traditional frontages retained with modernised building...

    Cookery lessons at school.

Morning Nage, Thought it was high time I had a look in the Forum so have just caught up with this thread. As you know I am not from these parts but it must have been a national curriculum in schools when we were young. Where I went to school we were taken to another school by coach (well an old...

    Severn valley railway.

My small grandson loves the tunnel before Bewdley coming up from Kidderminster. It's not the tunnel itself but he's clocked it that coming out of the tunnel he has to be at a rightside window to see the animals in the West Midlands Safari Park. When we took him there he was more interested...

Smashing bit of video, bet you looked like one of the Black & White Minstrels when you came out of the tunnel :D

    Birmingham buses

Not so David, Midland Red had their own stops in both directions inside the City boundary, fewer in number over BCT routes and usually located some yards away from BCT stops. The reason round plates and and ironware were used inside the Birmingham boundary was that BCT provided the complete bus...

Another fantastic photo ragga, many thanks for posting it. What a sad lineup. If only one of those Crossleys and the PD2 had been preseved. The location does look like WH patch and they ran Crossleys so reckon you are right.

    Birmingham buses

Where on the old 27 route is the Horse and Hound pub? You may well ask, but it wasn't. This photo is of preserved Birmingham City Transport single deck Daimler Fleetline 3472 and was taken last Sunday (10/7/11) in the lovely village of Broadway in Worcestershire. It was giving rides for the...

Thanks pollypops . The card is unposted so no precise date. From buses shown would say mid to late 1920's.

    Broad Street/Easy Row

Re: broad st/easy row The Town Hall is out of sight to the right of Big Brum. This view is looking across to Congreve Street but an undemolished building on the Town Hall end hides the bridge over Edmund Street.

    Midland Red Early Days

Not an S15 David, but from the seating, looks more likely to be an S22 semi coach (which was produced too late to wear that black top livery whilst in service with the Midland Red). Fleet number would be useful to verify.
