Good evening everyone,
I'm the grandson of the late Graham Paul Webb, who was a well-known member of this forum for many years.
After my grandfather moved to Belgium to pursue his cycling career, I unfortunately never had the opportunity to meet my family in the UK. While browsing through some of the old posts on this forum, I came across information that my great-great-grandfather, John Sheldon (1st Battalion, King's Royal Rifle Corps, service number 4581), served during the First World War.
As someone with a keen interest in history, particularly the Great War, I would love to learn more about his military service. Does anyone know where he served, or where and under what circumstances he was captured?
Also, if there are any distant relatives on this forum—or anyone who remembers my grandfather and would like to chat about our family history—I'd be delighted to hear from you.
Many thanks in advance for any information you can share.
