There are quite a few records for the home at the Wolfson Centre at The Library of Birmingham I found them going through Discovery at the National Archives. They may just be general rather than personal but it might be worth a look. I'm going to see what they have for the Princess Alice Home at New Oscott.

Very pleasantly surprised to find that the Cottage Homes buildings have survived, now residencies named The Gardens ! Images all taken from Streetview.

We went on a trip to Chester and Rhyl on a day trip from my Junior School in the 60s.
It must have been a standard thing for Birmingham schools!

Was it quite a long journey in those days ? I expect the cottage home trip probably started off from the Stockland Green coach garage, next to the Stockland pub. Their coaches went to Rhyl.

In actual fact, we went by train!
My Junior School was in Perry Barr, I can't remember now what station we went from.
