A photo, pre WW2, from a site trying to identify unknown photographs. 32 Salisbury Road, Moseley. During WW1 and for some years after the home of William Henry Checkland before he moved to 57 Chantry Road. He was the owner of a small chain of grocers at 205-297 Bloomsbury St, 10 Aston Road North, 97 Broad St, 34 Washwood Heath Road and 134 Monument Road. The family seems to have been grocers as, in 1915 Kellys, Alfred Thomas and Jesse Checkland also each had two grocers shops.
