.The photo is described as being in Corporation Street, but I can find no mention of them being in Corporation St. . Hall & Polley are first mentioned in the 1880 Kellys at 9 Bull Street, having taken over the shop of Joseph Alexandre's Italian warehouse. When they were just at no 9, a milliner is listed as being at no 8 , to the right of the shop, as is shown in the photo They are first described as a trimming warehouse. In the late 1880s they expanded to 8 & 9 Bull Street, in the mid-1890s changed the name to Sydney Polley, trimming warehouse, and in the early 1900s to Polley & Clark, fancy drapers. By 1908 the firm had moved to 66, 70 & 72 Corporation Street and were described as linen drapers and silk mercers..

Earliest mention I can see is 1886 in Bull Street. In 1889 they advertise as Bull Street and Marlborough House Corporation Street.

Just checked the street entry for 1890 as opposed to the commercial section. In photo in post #1 the word "millinery" can be seen on the next shop and the directory entry shows this so perhaps helping to date the photo.
