Newspapers : Newspaper Archive new issues of local journals

Not exactly local to our area but i am looking for a newspaper article in the Stornaway Gazette
concerning my Gt Gt Grandfathers shop.

Where could i find such information?
 
The article was about my Gt Gt Grandfathers shop he was a saddler by trade.

The only information i have is that the article was published in the 26th September 1970 edition of the paper
and appears on page three but i have no idea of the actual content.

My relatives name was Donald Macneill and he reputedly was descended from 'The Macneill of the Macneill'
which of course was the chief of the clan.

I have spent almost half a lifetime trying to prove or disprove this theory and it has been a long journey.

So, any little snippets of information such as the newspaper article will help with another piece of the jigsaw.

Well i really don't know what to say except many thanks for the extract.

I'm not sure what i expected from it but i am surprised by some of the content, particularly about Maggie.

It does, of course, create as many questions as it does answers which is really what family history research is about.

The quest, as they say continues, but thanks again for your help much appreciated...
