Our garden is very similar to yours Trebor. Got rid of the lawn years ago as I didn't want the hassle of cutting lawns as I got older.
I will have to try and take a decent photo and the find out how to post it. My problem is age and the shakes. Like you we have a number of Hostas several coming into flower
