Masons pop factory

Evening all, my family were the founders. My great, great, great grandad Titus Mason!
Alex,
my Father used to sell Masons pop in his shop (which is why I still have the bottle opener above) but he also sold 'Sno Sam' bleach (it had a logo of a snowman with a red hat on the bottle). He told me that the bleach was also made by Masons but in order to avoid the risk of someone quaffing a glass of bleach from a bottle labelled 'Masons', the name was changed to Sno Sam, being Masons backwards.

I often wonder if he was 'spinning a yarn', perhaps you could shed some light!

In the 1960s I worked for Wm S Pearsall FCI, accountants on Bearwood Road. One of my jobs was the audit and accounts preparation for Masons. The one person who stands out in my memory was Jim Mason, who drove an E-Type Jag.

I dug up this Mason bottle-cap while gardening near Stirchley (B30) and wondered if anybody knew how old it was.
Thanks, Mike

That would fit any of the old masons bottles with internal thread by the looks of it, vulcanised rubber I think?. I would say anything up to the 1960's or so, all of the older bottles my dog had found from masons have never had the vulcanised lid, but I have many others from other bottles. It's held it's colours well.

I don't know much about bottles, only what I've gathered by researching old bottles that the dog has found and bought back to me. (I have a house full ranging from about 1880 up to 1960(modern bottles don't interest me and I just recycle them).

Hopefully someone with more knowledge comes along.

I looked for the introduction of the slogan 'Fizziness is our bizziness' but no joy so far! November 1963 this slogan used in the Birmingham Mail.

Can you confirm that this is a screw stopper rather than a crown cap or screw on lid.
