Hello! I am currently trying to find information about my great great grandfather born in Aston, his name was Bertram Mayfield DOB 1866 . He came to Australia and on his wedding certificate it says he was born to an Albert Mayfield DOB 1841 and Ellen Coburn DOB 1850. From what I can tell, Albert and Ellen were never married and it appears Ellen was born from Priscilla Cobourn and was also illegit. If anyone could help point me in the right direction I would be grateful. they are very difficult people to find information on.

I think Albert Mayfield married Helen Jane Coburn. Marriage reg in March quarter 1865 at West Bromwich. (At the time parts of what is now Birmingham came under West Brom).

Helen and Ellen are often mixed up.
