52 Dinglemead, Kings Heath

I’ve just been told today that my Mom and Dad lived at 52 Dinglemead when they got married back in 1948. Im not how long they lived there but my two brothers were born there so that means at least until 1954.

However I cannot find this address on google maps. I can only assume that the street doesn’t exist anymore. Does anyone know where this road would have been so I can find on the map.

i’m just curious to find where they lived together at the start of their marriage. I know it was a flat with a balcony but that’s all.

thank you to anyone who can help.

It was 2 words. It was off Brandwood Park Road - see c1960s map. No. 50/52 marked with red marker.

This is brilliant thank you so much. I’m gathering family history from my Aunt and you have been so helpful finding the maps. I appreciate your help.

Hi new member here. I've just started looking for Dingle Mead and Brandwood history as I lived at 48 (upper flat) Dingle Mead as a child between 1974 and !976. I recall playing outside on my bike and walking up the alley to the canal.
Mom worked as a cleaner at Sturges.
I regularly walk and cycle close to the spot where the flats once were, trying to remember more from my early memories as a 5/6 year old.

Hello Paul, I grew up just down the road from Dingle Mead all through the seventies, I lived next to Dawberry Fields. Like you I’d sometimes play by the canal, Lifford reservoir (though I was strictly forbidden to) and on the railway embankment and remember the area with a great deal of affection. My avatar shows me in our back garden back then, I’m guessing about ‘75, eating a packet of “Kung Fuey” crisps!
