Although no longer a pub, at least the building is still standing, and recognisable. I wonder where exactly the brewery was in Barwick Street (presumably). Viv.

The letter head appears to show the brewery on the Edmund Street frontage and around the corner of Barwick Street. The current building dates from 1890.I think there was a total demolition and rebuild, but ?

I found this picture of 137 Edmund st from 1882 - but it matches the building at 136-138 today. Was the street renumbered?

Between the directories of 1882 and 1883 Edmund St was renumbered from consecutive numbering (1,2,3,4,..) to odd numbers one side, even the other.
