DBHxxxB was issued August & September 1964, followed by EBHxxxB in October 1964. They were Buckinghamshire issues, and the county town is Aylesbury. (Luton is in Bedfordshire and issued "XD" registrations.)

The problem is that various local authorities were issued with registration codes which were only used for a short time. For example Solihull had XC (I had VXC307N) but I can't find mention of that! I think it was only for a couple of years. Also some authorities issues registrations for nearby towns - not necessarily in the same county.
Edit: https://www.drivearchive.co.uk/regcodes.htm seems more accurate and does list Solihull (used for 10 years)! It lists BH as Buckinghamshire - Luton and BM as Bedfordshire - Luton. XD is listed as London.
So I've come to the conclusion Lyn that I can't say for definite where the car was registered - final answer!!!!!
