Birmingham Fair 1959

These are photos from Picture Post found on the Getty Images website - all it says is Birmingham Fair 1959 so not 100% sure of the exact location
 
It looks like a summer/autumn fair. A few possibilities: Serpentine opposite Aston Park, Ward End Park, Radleys Recreation Ground and Shard End Recreation Ground. The most likely I expect would be Pat Collins' Birmingham 'Onion' Pleasure Fair at The Serpentine.

have my doubts about it being on the serpentine ground which i seem to remember reading was a hard surface not grassed..could be wrong though

Was it not Handsworth park , there was always a great funfair there, they had a “ wall of death” too. I lived across the road in Grove lane
