Charles Wall - Cricket Bat Maker

I have just purchased a vintage cricket bat that has a name of The Swift, with an outline of a swift flying on its face either side of the handle. The face also has on it Charles Wall, Maker, Sparkhill, Birmingham and Best Selected. On the back of the bat, at the bottom of the handle is WALL MAKER SPARKHILL BIRMINGHAM.

The MCC museum does not have any record of this maker. Does anyone have any information of when he was operating?

Many thanks

Thanks for this information. It looks like he was making bats between 1901 and 1921 at the outside. Family Search shows he died in 1948.

According to the electoral roll he is called Charles De La Hay Wall and was at 316 Percy road till 1939. There is a Charles Wall (presumably the same) at 273 Percy road in 1945 and 1947
