    Aston Woolworths

I was about to query the address as Aston Road North was part of Aston Cross (where there was a Woolworths by the ATV studios) and Aston Road North was a distance away from Burlington Street (which was by the Hippodrome and the Bartons Arms). The photo looks very much like the Woolworths branch...

Hers one for General Discussion-OUR DATA.

Alberta Whilst I appreciate we may all use different methods when researching our family tree/ancestors, we rely on “the paper trail” (certificates, registers etc) to verify such information. However certificates/registers etc are only as accurate as the information supplied by the...

My partners niece and nephew went missing in 1960 and were both found drowned in the River Arrow. She was only 4 years old, however I am unsure how old her brother was. There were articles in Birmingham newspapers because I have read them at Birmingham Archives but I cannot find anything on...

    Problems with Ancestry??

When signing in to Ancestry there is an option to tick (when they send you a passcode) to ?save (sorry I cannot remember exactly the precise details) but it means that when you sign in in future, you don't need to verify with a passcode, you just type in your user name and password. William.

    Problems with Ancestry??

Are you using the app or trying to log on to the website through your browser. I personally never use the app as it does not appear to work quite as well as the website. William.

    Problems with Ancestry??

Ancestry website doesn't appear to be running smoothly for some members, with a few glitches here and there recently and from time to time. When I went to my Ancestry messages a few days ago it was showing that the messages were all from "unknown" - however it did later rectify itself. I...

    Windsor Street

I have just noticed that the photo posted 1st October 2024 actually says "Winson Street" and not "Windsor Street" in the bottom left corner. Edit. Photo now moved to Winson Street thread. William.

    Ancestry website query

I do not attach too much credence to the "Tree Rating" figures and possible errors Ancestry state could be in my tree. Although I do check from time to time. I mainly use ProTools for the DNA feature. William.
