Good morning all, I was just wondering if anyone remembers my Nan and her husband who bought and ran the greengrocers in the early 70’s, I think they called it Sutherlands. Also does anyone remember the Meades family who lived in Wroxton Road probably from 1912 to the late 40’s?
Yes I have seen that photo. Ethel also lived on Charles Edward Road in 1924 then I think she moved to Yardley Road. I haven’t looked on family search I’ve only been on ancestry, I’ll have a look at that too, thank you
I’m not sure but I think the old school was in the church hall at St Margaret’s church, Warwick road, Olton or a small building close by. I don’t know when the new school was opened but my family would only have attended the original school.
That’s very interesting, i know they were living there in 1911 with my great grandfather as they are on the census. I wonder if they moved in after 1904. It sounds like a nice house for the time, apart from no bathroom!
My Great Grandfather and some of his siblings attended St Margarets School in the 1880’s before it moved to its current location. I was hoping that someone has some knowledge of the school from that era. Thank you
My Great Great Grandparents lived at number 58 Charles Edward Road from at least 1911 to 1924 when they both died. Their names were John and Mary Ann Meades. Has anyone got any information or hopefully photos of the road during that era as I would be very interested to find out more about their...
